what is tour mode: backstage pass?
Tour Mode: Backstage Pass is a new opportunity awarded to select dancers by faculty members during the Bootcamp experience. Those selected will be invited to shadow an instructor on a real-life, behind-the-scenes experience.
This could be:
A creative meeting for an upcoming tour or music video
A rehearsal room visit during artist prep
A brainstorm session for choreography or casting
Or simply a one-on-one shadowing moment in the real world
Each opportunity is different. Each one is meaningful.
You’re not there to assist — you’re there to observe and absorb.
how does it work?
At the end of the Tour Mode Bootcamp, a few dancers will be selected by participating instructors. If chosen, you’ll receive:
✔️ A Backstage Pass certificate of recognition
✔️ A follow-up email within 30–90 days with next steps
✔️ The opportunity to attend a private, real-world experience with your selecting faculty member*
*Based on faculty availability, project timelines, and location proximity. Experiences may be virtual or in-person.
Who Gets Chosen?
There’s no application. No sign-up list.
Backstage Pass is earned — not by being the flashiest dancer, but by being the most present, professional, curious, and ready.
Faculty will look for dancers who show:
Consistent work ethic
Maturity and humility
A hunger to learn beyond the classroom
Respect for the craft and the process
Why this matters?
Most conventions offer scholarships — a discounted or free pass to return next year. Some let dancers compete for assistant spots, often after multiple auditions and years of attending.
But let’s be real:
That title doesn’t hold long-term weight — and it rarely means anything on a resumé.
Meanwhile, dancers are spending entire weekends competing with the person next to them, trying to land a spot on a touring convention. Chasing a moment. A title. A piece of paper.
And in doing so, the real reason they came — to grow, train, and evolve — gets lost.
Tour Mode: Backstage Pass is different.
We’re not offering titles or convention clout.
We’re offering access to real industry leaders — the choreographers, creative directors, and decision-makers who shape the professional world.
Ask yourself:
Do you want a certificate?
Or do you want to learn how to book the job?
This is about more than being seen.
It’s about learning what it actually takes to step into the touring industry as a dancer — and stay there.
